Although the national stats for teen driving after drinking is still relatively low — seven percent — the number of deadly crashes associated with teen drinking is still high. According to Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, car crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers, and one-fourth of those wrecks involve an underage drinking driver. But, before you think they are drinking and staying, consider this stat, the number of teens getting into a vehicle with someone who has been drinking is considerably higher — 21 percent admit to climbing into a vehicle with an impaired driver.
