Firehouse Lounge
Description:Instead, they're allowed on deck, which even on the blusteriest fall evening is cozy and toasty with space heaters and sofas. The look of the place, an artful mix of antique and modern, rustic and urban, adequately reflects all facets of its personality -- from the eclectic crowd to the eclectic drinks and music mixes. But proprietor Spencer Warren is quick to point out other authentic touches, such as the original tin ceiling and exposed brick walls in the entrance-way. The gallery upstairs can be reached via the well-worn staircase directly across from the door - a staircase those who frequented the Firehouse Lounge will remember all too well. There very well may be reasons for leaving this panel exposed versus covering it from view but to leave it in its "roughed in" state rather than what you'd see in a finished building is inappropriate, particularly since its in a very visible and well-traveled corridor. I know, right now you think I'm crazy for noticing let alone taking issue with it but bear with me. It seems at least worth a visit if you are an avid wine drinker as there are likely some wines at Bar Marco you won't be able to try anywhere else in Pittsburgh.
