Description:From huge Red and Green Macaws to Mealy Parrots , the birds flock here to munch on nutrient-rich clay. We were in dire need of a money changer. But, the most attractive is the presence of various species of birds like the camungo, the prehistoric hoatzin and more species of birds, and monkeys, white alligators and of course the River Otters. The two ends were stacked high with people — most heading toward the small mining shantytown of Manu Blanquillo Clay Lick three days downriver, and just short of Puerto Maldonado. From this place the jungle begins and the presence of orchids Sobralia dichotoma. In addition to the rainforest habitat, enjoy areas of savanna habitat along the Heath River where camera traps have caught images of maned wolves, anteaters, and other wildlife.
