Description:It helps the fish to reach the food from the crevice of rocks. The destruction of coral reefs occurs mainly from boats, and without their coral habitat , the butterfly fish find it difficult to survive as they have less food and are also more exposed to predators. Certain butterfly fish are solitary until they find a mating partner. The fry go through a tholichthys stage, wherein the body of the post larval fish is covered in large, bony plates extending from the head. The patterns on its body look like a butterfly.
